RUN OF THE DAY
6 km (3.7 mi) Interval Run

An interval run helps improve speed and cardiovascular fitness by alternating between high-intensity sprints and recovery periods.

  1. Warm-up: Start with a 10-minute easy jog to get your muscles warmed up and your heart rate elevated.

  2. Intervals:

    • Run 400 meters at a fast pace (about 90-95% of your maximum effort).

    • Follow with a 200-meter slow jog or walk for recovery.

    • Repeat this cycle 8 times for a total of 4 km (2.5 miles) of intervals.

  3. Cool-down: Finish with a 10-minute easy jog or walk to gradually bring your heart rate down and help with recovery.

Tips:

  • Focus on maintaining good form during the sprints to avoid injury.

  • Use the recovery jogs to bring your heart rate down but stay moving.

  • If you find the intervals too challenging, start with fewer repetitions and build up over time.

ON THE TRAX
“Brazil - 2nd Edit” by deadmau5 (2008)

Hometown hero deadmau5 came out with this banger back in 2008, and it’s a track that I throw into my playlist at all times. “Brazil - 2nd Edit” is a mesmerizing electronic track with intricate beats and a captivating melody. Its smooth progression and pulsating rhythm make it an ideal accompaniment for a focused and steady Interval Run, helping you maintain your pace effortlessly.
